Best Mexican Food in South Sioux City

The best mexican food I've had in Siouxland, Probably the best Mexican I've had in Iowa or Nebraska. Everything was good; service, my table, speed, and of course, food. I had a huaracha, a cross between a big taco and a sopes. A shrimp taco with very large shrimp. And although forgotten at first, a nice Salvadoran pupusa. All were excellent. I ordered a gordita con carnitas, a pupusa con beans and cheese, and a side of rice. I grew up on a farm in northeast Nebraska but I also lived in Chicago and the Cook County suburbs for 19 years. The gordita was better than any gordita I ate in Chicago. The pupusa was excellent as well. I visited on Saturday around noon time so it was very busy. The service was fast and friendly. I really enjoyed the pickled carrots and coleslaw as well.

When I ask for extra limon, this is exactly what I want to see! Pozole verde on a Tuesday was a pleasant surprise and very delicious. Great service as well! One of the best spots for authentic food in Siouxland!

So last night we went to Mi Rancherita in South Sioux on Dakota Ave. It was a fantastic experience! We ordered birria tacos (pictured) and a birria quesadilla. We also each ordered a pupusa because why not! All of it was amazing and the staff was very nice!

Mi Rancherita is one of the top places in Siouxland when you're craving a Mexican dish! Everytime I've gone I've been happy with my order and the waitresses and cashier are always super friendly. While waiting for your order you can snack on chips and salsa which is always nice to have while waiting for the main course.
